New Patients

Your first visit, start to finish — no surprises.

Every new patient at Ridgeline goes through the same four steps: intake, exam, first adjustment, and a written care plan. Here's exactly what happens, what to bring, and how long it takes.

The Walkthrough

Four steps. About 60 minutes.

  1. Step 1

    Intake Paperwork & Health History

We email your intake forms when you book, so you can complete them from your couch in about 10 minutes. We ask about your current symptoms, injury history, medications, and past imaging. Bring your photo ID, insurance card, and any recent X-rays or MRI reports you have — if you don't have imaging, we can take digital X-rays on-site the same day.

  2. Step 2

    Consultation & Examination

You'll sit down one-on-one with Dr. Webb or Dr. Hollis to talk through what brought you in and what you want to get back to. Then a full orthopedic and neurological exam: range-of-motion testing, palpation, reflexes, and a software-guided digital posture assessment. We explain what we find as we find it — in plain English, not clinical jargon.

    About 25 minutes
  3. Step 3

    Your First Adjustment

If your exam shows chiropractic care is appropriate, you'll receive your first adjustment the same visit. We walk you through exactly what we're doing before we do it, use the lightest effective force, and never adjust anything you're not comfortable with. Wear loose, comfortable clothing — athletic wear is perfect; skip restrictive jeans.

    About 15 minutes, same visit
  4. Step 4

    Your Personalized Care Plan

Before you leave, you get a written care plan: your diagnosis, recommended visit frequency, expected milestones, home exercises, and transparent pricing with your verified insurance benefits already applied. No open-ended 'come forever' plans — every plan has a goal and an end point.

Written plan in hand before you leave

Good to Know

What to expect — the practical details.

Plan for about 60 minutes

Your first visit runs roughly an hour door-to-door: paperwork check-in, consultation, exam, first adjustment, and care-plan review. Follow-up visits are much shorter — typically 15–20 minutes.

What to bring

Photo ID, insurance card, a list of current medications, and any recent imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT) or specialist reports. Booked online? Your intake forms will already be done.

What to wear

Loose, comfortable clothing you can move in. Athletic wear is ideal. Avoid restrictive jeans, tight dresses, or heavy layers — you'll be moving through range-of-motion tests.

Insurance verified up front

Our front desk verifies your benefits before your first visit and tells you your exact out-of-pocket cost before any treatment happens. In-network with BCBS, United, Cigna, Aetna, and Medicare.

No high-pressure sales

You will never be pushed into a long-term package on day one. Your care plan comes with clear milestones, and we re-evaluate progress every visit — if you're not improving, we change the approach or refer out.

Same-week availability

New patient slots are held Monday through Saturday, including early mornings from 7:00 AM and evenings until 7:00 PM on weekdays. Most new patients are seen within 2–3 days of calling.

New Patient Questions

The questions every new patient asks.

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

For most patients, no — many feel immediate relief. You may hear a popping sound (gas releasing from the joint, not bones cracking) and feel mild soreness afterward, similar to post-workout muscle fatigue, that resolves within 24 hours. We use the lightest effective force, explain every move before we make it, and stop immediately if anything feels wrong.

How long is the first visit?

Plan for about 60 minutes. That covers your consultation, a full orthopedic and neurological exam, digital posture assessment, your first adjustment (if appropriate), and a review of your written care plan. Follow-up visits typically take 15–20 minutes.

Do you accept my insurance?

We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, and Aetna, and we accept Medicare and most Colorado Medicaid plans. Our front desk verifies your benefits before your first visit so you know your exact cost up front. Self-pay rates are available for patients without coverage — the initial evaluation is $85.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. Chiropractors are portal-of-entry providers in Colorado, which means you can book directly without a physician referral. Some insurance plans do require a referral for coverage — that's one of the things we check during your benefits verification, before you're ever billed.

What if I'm in acute pain right now?

Call us at (720) 555-0194 and tell the front desk it's acute — we hold same-day and next-day slots for patients in significant pain. If your exam suggests something outside chiropractic scope (fracture, infection, cauda equina symptoms), we'll refer you to the right provider immediately rather than treat and hope.

Will I have to commit to a long treatment plan?

No. Every care plan we write has a defined goal, an expected visit count, and milestones we check at every appointment. Acute injuries often resolve in 4–8 sessions; chronic or postural cases typically take 12–20. If you're not progressing on schedule, we change the plan — we don't just keep booking visits.
